OVEN GOES ALL OUT

Oven Productions presents Teresa Trull with Bonnie Hayes, Romanovsky and Phil lips, and opening act Diedre McCalla in concert Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert, which is in conjunction with the AllOhio Lesbian/Gay/Feminist Conference, will be held at the
Allen Memorial Library, Ford Auditorium at Euclid and Adelbert on the Case Western Reserve University campus.
Tickets for the event are $10 general admission, $8 if purchased in advance with with conference registration, and $2 for those under 12 and over 60 years old. Free child care and work exchange are available. The concert will be A.S.L. interpreted for deaf persons.

Teresa Trull has been touted as a "deep voiced R&B shouter who lends spiritual fervor to songs of human relations."
albums for Romanovsky and Phillips and for Diedre McCalla, with whom she will share the stage.
Her third and most recent album, Unexpected, with Windham Hill recording artist Barbara Higbie, was included in the Boston Globe's list of top ten albums for 1983. Equally praised has been her captivating performing style. Trull, it is written, "entertains with a sense of humor laced with feeling and emotion."
Bonnie Hayes
Accompanying Teresa Trull is Bay Area singer/songwriter/keyboardist Bonnie Rayes, whose versatile talents have found a home in pop, rock and ballads as well as smokey jazz. Known for her "searching lyrics," lyrics," Hayes has risen to prominence on the San Francisco/Bay area club circuit over the past four years and currently performs with her band, Wild Combo, of which Teresa Trull is a part.
Hayes albums include Good Clean Fun, a 1982 release on Slash Records, and a 1984 mini-lp entitled Brave New Girl.
From her roots in Durham, North Carolina, where she was steeped in blues, gospel and R&B from an early age, Trull has emerged as one of the premier singer/songwriters on the Women's music scene today. This book is a cornucopia of stories, from all over North America, detailing what women, both lesbian and straight, (and even some men) are doing to shape the future through art.

Calla is known for the rhythmic undercurrents of her music and the poetic integrity of her lyrics. McCalla is an inspiring, an inspiring, evocative performer who has both delighted and deeply touched her audiences with her quick wit and irresistable warmth. Her widely acclaimed recent album, Don't
The only disappointment in the book is the ongoing commentary on the authors' relationships. Yes--monogamy isn't for everyone, but the arguments against it are out of place in a book of this sort.
Otherwise the book is pleasant, enjoyable reading which leaves the reader with a sense of pride in being at woman or in knowing women who are involved in making a future for this world.
The Cleveland connection is Arleen Hartman, who is mentioned once in gratitude and who has two of her art works included.

If "art is truth," as Rodin would have us believe, then this book is a much needed addition for anyone who has trouble believing the traditional press, and wants to know what is really going on..
Both authors, Annie Cheatham and Mary Clare Powell, will be in Cleveland on April 23 and 24 at the Cleveland State University art gallery. On the 23rd they will present a slide show based on the book from 2 to 4 p.m. At 7:30 Cleveland area musicians, artists and poets will hold their own presentation on the Feninist Future. On April 24 there will be two workshops entitled "Getting in Touch with Creativblic. with Creativity which are open to the public.
